Codfish with cream and shrimp

We said before that codfish is really important to Portuguese cuisine so we decided to give you another favorite recipe that we use a lot when it comes to codfish.

In this recipe, we make the shrimp version but in case you don’t like or allergic can easily take it and it’s still going to be good for sure.

Serves 4:

Take the salt from the codfish as explained in the previous recipe. Boil it in water for 5 min and take it from water and let it cool.

While it cool put the frying oil on and when the oil is on 170º degrees fry the potatoes. You don’t need to fry the potato thru, because is still goes to the oven after. Just to give a colour to it.When they are ready set aside.

Take the skin of the codfish and as well the bones and put the codfish in small pieces.

Put the oven in 180º. And put a pan with olive oil in the stove. When the olive oil is hot add the sliced onion and garlic and the bay leaf and let the onion start to get soften.

Add the codfish and and add the pepper and nutmeg and salt( if necessary, taste before). Cook the codfish for a couple of minutes and add the potatoes to the pan and cook some more minutes.Add the mustard and take the bay leaf out and mix well for the codfish got the flavour of the mustard.

Add the shrimp and cook for 2/3 minutes and taste for seasoning. Add the cream, mix well and put some breadcrumbs on top. Put it on the oven till it get toasted on top around 20 min.

Take it out and put parsley on top. Serve with a crispy salad and Enjoy:)
