In the middle of Manhattan, a new star is born.
Form the first generation American born to Portuguese parents, chef George Mendes opens is second restaurant. First opened Aldea,also in NYC, a iberian restaurant awarded with a Michelin star. Then chef Mendes decided to go mode deep in Portuguese cuisine and tradition and Lupulo was created inspired by the breweries in Lisbon. A relaxing atmosphere and Portuguese comfort food.
Lupulo means in Portuguese "hops", where chef got the inspiration. The menu, the drinks and the decoration were created to pay homage to Portuguese taverns and brewery.
There you can taste the baby squid " a la plancha", the famous chicken "piri piri", the Alentejano Gaspacho and Squid ink rice among many others.
