João Portugal Ramos come from a family of wine producers and he as well a wine producer he is. In 1980 he started as a winemaker.
Almost 10 years later with experience accumulated, João Portugal Ramos started doing consulting and creating a company for that matter. With that besides Alentejo, he worked also a little bit over Portugal.
In 1990, he decided to plant his own first wine fields. Working for years in renting a place to do the wine, in 1997 it was built the Vila Santa wine cellar. And from there, the Tagus wines, Verdes( green wines), and the Duorum wine.
More than a winemaker, João Portugal Ramos is passionate about wine, creating them, better with quality and experience and tradition.
From the wines, a special attention to Marquês de Borba Reserve 2012; a red one with the grapes Trincadeira, Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Savignon; a wine with distinct finish. Quinta da Viçosa 2012( "Best of Portugal, wine magazine 2016), also red and also from Alentejo a wine dense full boody with aroma of spices and chocolate.Quinta Foz de Arouce White 2014, a white wine with notes of lime and grape fruit, honey and fennel, from the Beiras region. Duorum Reserva Vinhas Velhas 2012 and Duorum Vintage Vinha de Castelo Melhor 2012 and last one João Portugal Ramos Alvarinho 2014 a citric and floral aroma in this Alvarinho wine.
