Many farms in Portugal nowadays, offer much more than only one service or than the normal hotel with a view, and Herdade dos Grous is no exception.
In the inland of Alentejo, there are horse riding, birdwatching, a room with a view of course( and a good one), good restaurant with traditional Alentejo cuisine, good olive oil and of course wine. Excellent and quality wine.
Herdade dos Grous it is localized in Albernoa, Beja, Portugal. It's a hotel, a farm, a restaurant and much more.
The restaurant like we said before is focused on Alentejo cuisine and home grown produce.. Seats 90 guests and it's open for lunch and dinner.
Along the 1700 acres the vineyards, olive groves, artificial lake are waiting for the guests.
In this post, we focus on the wine but we guarantee that all the rest has the same quality and is taken with the same care.
Being the Alentejo wines full bodied, Herdade dos Grous create the wine with the same spirit and idea. The grape varieties as "Trincadeira" or "Arangonez" are used to showcase that idea.
Among the wines, the Reserve white and red and the Herdade dos Grous Moon Harvested deserve our attention.
Among the white wines, "Antão Vaz", "Roupeiro" and "Arinto" are the grape varieties used and among the red besides the one mentioned before above, also the "Alicante Bouschet", "Syrah" and "Aragonez".
With a wine cellar from 2005, Herdade dos Grous have the most advanced methods of viticulture using the latest technology.
For the maturation, the wine is kept in barrels made from French or American oak.
For wine lovers, olive oil lovers, or if you look for a peaceful place or an adventurous one, Herdade dos Grous is a place for you
