Does the wine Quinta do Carmo ring any bell to you? If not you are totally missing out one of the amazing wines that Herdade da Bacalhôa has to offer.
They produce wine from 7 different wine regions in Portugal and each one of them have unique characteristics and great flavours.
Herdade da Bacalhôa has the main Winery in Azeitão, Setubal, less than 45 minutes to Lisbon. The company was created back in the 20's and since then producing wine is something to enjoy and to share with friends and special occasions. They believe that some much that is one of their values.
Among the wines, our focus goes to the "Quinta da Bacalhôa" red and white. The red from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot aged in French casks. The white besides its freshness, you can taste the notes of grapefuit and apricot. Perfect for fish of courses and cheeses.
Also the "Quinta do Carmo" also red and white. If the first one is from the wineyard in Azeitão, this comes from the Alentejo. Each variety is only becomes the final blend in the end of the stage. Aragonez, Syrah, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon are the chosen ones. The white is made from the traditional Portuguese grapes Roupeiro, Antão Vaz and Arinto.
Last but not least we want to highlight also the Moscatel. Setubal is a region of a good Moscatel and this one is no exception. Perfect for your desserts or our cheeses.
Wine tourism is also a good option in this wineyard. Possibility to visit more than one wineyard, where you can taste and see how it's made, and as well museum and gardens.
See their website and next time you are in Portugal, go make them a visit. I guarantee it's good stuff
