Herdade da Amendoeira is a project integrating activities, such as, agriculture, animal production and small agro-business: ecotourism, rural tourism, pure bred Limousin, hunting, fishing, sheep and goat cheese production, Destilaria Montemorense, (distilled liquors), honey, jams, smoked sausages of black Alentejano pig, and a farm shop.
It is located in Santana do Campo, Arraiolos, Alentejo. It is inserted in a rural environment with Alentejo architecture. It has a B&B where you can spent some days while enjoying the nature, the cheese production and many other activities.
From them we have the cheese and the cured meat. All cheeses are known for their exceptional quality,maintaining their traditional way of manufacture, being produced manually, without additives, fulfilling all hygiene standards, and food safety control.
The smoked sausages are made from free range black Alentejano pigs which are raised and fed with acorns and pasture. Acorns are rich in oleic acid, vitamins and minerals and their fat does not contain “bad cholesterol”.
